“…La escala evalua las habilidades motoras gruesas de niños entre 0 y 18 meses de nacidos y ha sido ampliamente utilizada con este fin en gran variedad de paises, siendo revalida para este fin 20 años después con una muestra escogida de seis hospitales de diferentes ciudades de Canadá, y con criterios para representar demográfica y etnicamente a la poblacion Canadiense (6) la escala tambien ha sido validada en paises tan diversos como Grecia, Japón y Brasil siendo este ultimo de especial importancia por las potenciales similitudes entre su poblacion y la nuestra (7)(8)(9). Dada su amplia difusion se han realizado curvas de referencia locales, y analisis transculturales para adaptarla a las diferentes condiciones de la poblacion local, incluyendo de nuevo a Brasil entre los paises que cuentan con este tipo de estudios demostrando la versatilidad de la herramienta y tambien el requerimiento de creacion de valores de referencia para entornos especificos (10-12) sin que existan estudios similares en nuestro pais, en Colombia se ha probado su repoductibilidad interobservador (13).…”
