Renewable energy incentives on the road to sustainable development during climate change: A review

Abstract: This review is dedicated to the analytical literature concerning the dynamics of different approaches to renewable energy promotion. Examples of major types of green energy incentives, including carbon tax, Feed-in Tariffs, and investments in research and development are covered in the paper, as well as the barriers and limitations to such practices and the contradictions existing in the field of renewable energy. The dynamics of the means of green energy promotion over this period have been addressed. This re… Show more

“…Accessibility of the energy system is also related to its affordability, which is also factored in resilience energy planning ( Anderson, K. et al, 2021). However, this requires policies that incentivize renewable energy use, provide subsidies for renewable energy infrastructure that enables the accessibility objective (Tryndina N, 2022), and renewable energy siting (Thrän, D., Gawel, E., Fiedler, D., 2020). Thus, considering renewable energy transition as a key component of land use planning and community development is essential for a successful energy transition.…”

“…In order to decarbonize the operation of telecom tower, it may be necessary to design and execute policy interventions that promote harnessing of renewable sources of energy for the purpose (Qadir et al, 2021 ). For example, appropriate incentivization measures (such as viability gap funding, interest subsidy, accelerated depreciation, and other tax benefits) can be offered to adopt renewable energy-based electricity generation options for powering telecom towers (Tryndina et al, 2022 ). Similarly, modalities of optimally using hybrid systems for powering telecom towers should also be identified.…”

“…The purpose of these incentives is to expand the use of RES, increase the share of RES in meeting the energy need, and reduce environmental pollution [9]. Various methods can be used to encourage the use of RES, because it is aimed to make the use of RES attractive with government incentives such as providing tax breaks for the construction of solar power plants, granting loans for the construction of hydroelectric power plants [10]. Countries can import large amounts of energy to avoid bottlenecks in energy supply.…”
