Remote Temperature Sensor Based on Tamm Resonance

Abstract: A highly-sensitive remote temperature sensor based on Tamm resonance is proposed using a one-dimensional photonic crystal. The proposed structure is prism/Ag/Toluene/SiO 2 /(PSi 1 /PSi 2) N /Si. The transfer matrix method is used to discuss the interaction between the structure and the S-polarization of the incident radiation waves. We optimized the structure by studying the effect of the incident angle, the thickness of the first and second layers of the photonic crystal unit cell, the porosity of them, and t… Show more

“…We use SiO 2 as a dielectric material because the imaginary part is close to 0 and can be ignored 27 . Zaky et al 11 cleared a method that can help to control the thickness of Air/water layers during the process of fabrication using the etching process. For certainty, we assume d A = 175 nm, d B = 270 nm, N = 3, n Air = 1, n water = 1.33 29 , and θ 0 = 0 degrees as initial conditions.…”

“…In 2020, Zaky et al excited Tamm resonance using 1D-PC of PSi and used it as a gas sensor with high efficiency 24 . Besides, they used 1D-PC-PSi to propose temperature sensors for high 35 , 36 and low 37 temperatures.…”

“…Besides, 1D PCs can be easily fabricated by the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technique [23]. A novel type of PCs is composed of sequential stacks of alternating graphene and dielectric layers which are well-known as one-dimensional graphene photonic crystals (1D GPCs) and have been utilized in many applications such as isolators [24], biosensors [25], modulators [26], faraday rotators [27], and temperature sensors [28]. On the other hand, anisotropy, which is an interesting feature of graphene, results in remarkable optical properties for GPCs [29]- [31].…”
