Abstract:Snow parameters have traditionally been retrieved using discontinuous, multi-band sensors; however, continuous hyperspectral sensors are now being developed as an alternative. In this paper, we investigate the performance of various sensor configurations using machine learning neural networks trained on a simulated dataset. Our results show improvements in the accuracy of retrievals of snow grain size and impurity concentration for continuous hyperspectral channel configurations. Retrieval accuracy of snow alb… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
