Remoção do Corante Têxtil Turquesa de Remazol Empregando Aguapé (Eichhornia crassipes) como Adsorvente

Abstract: In this work, the efficient removal of Remazol Turquoise textile dye onto water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) from aqueous solutions was investigated by batch method. The water hyacinth was collected, washed, dried, crushed and treated with a 0.25 mol L -1 HNO3, at 50 °C and by 24 h. Parameters such as pHpzc, pH effect, contact time and temperature were considered. The kinetic and adsorption data were analyzed by using the Lagergren, Ho, Zeldowitsch (Elovich), and Weber-Morris models, and Langmuir, Freundlic… Show more

“…Hence, below these pH values, the surfaces of the adsorbents would be positively charged, favoring anion adsorption, while at higher values, the surfaces would be negatively charged, favoring the adsorption of cations. The pHpzc value for RHI was very close to values reported in the literature for in natura rice hull (5.3) [19] and babassu coconut epicarp (6.7) [39,40] . In other work, it was found that in natura wood sawdust had a pHpzc of 5.3, which decreased to 4.0 after treatment with hydrochloric acid [41] .…”

“…Besides, the maximum adsorption capacity would be 48.13 mg g -1 according to the model. A similar fit was reported by HOLANDA et al [20] which removed the Remazol turquoise textile dye using Eichhornia crassipes as adsorbent, where the best fit model was Sips with R² = 0.99. ior that shows single-layer adsorption capacity, while low concentrations presume the similarity of isotherm of Freundlich, which forms more than one layer of adsorbate on the adsorbent [21]. Thus, the Sips model was chosen to represent the equilibrium data of this work.…”

“…O efeito do pH no processo de adsorção foi avaliado pelo método em batelada, à temperatura de 25 ºC e pressão atmosférica, conforme metodologia de Holanda et al (2015). Soluções de sulfato de cobre 200 mg.L -1 foram preparadas nos intervalos de pH entre 3 e 6.…”
