Remediation of contaminated water from nitrate and diazinon by nanofiltration process

Abstract: Nitrate and diazinon pesticide is among the environmental challenges which enter water resources, mostly as a result of agricultural activities. In this study, the effects of diazinon concentration, nitrate concentration and pH on the efficiency of simultaneous removal of contaminants from polluted water were investigated, applying a commercial polyamide nanofilter. Each factor was considered in three levels where diazinon concentration, nitrate concentration and solution pH were in the range of 10-1,000 μg/L,… Show more

“…In general, the removal of pollutants and pesticides from water sources is accomplished through three main approaches, which include physical, chemical, and biological methods [ [15] , [16] , [17] , [18] ]. The use of adsorption methods [ 19 ], nanofiltration and reverse osmosis [ 20 , 21 ], electrochemical [ 22 ], advanced oxidation processes [ 23 ] and a combination of the above methods have been used to remove diazinon from water sources [ 24 ]. In recent times, the application of advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) has garnered substantial attention as efficient techniques for the eradication of pesticides from water sources [ 25 ].…”

“…The harmful effects of these toxin residue in the environment excited researchers to explore methods for removing these toxins from environment, and especially surface waters. Thereby many experimental researches were performed [11][12][13][14][15] , but a few theoretical studies are conducted in this topic 16 .…”
