Reliability Evaluation and Analysis of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

Abstract: The paper addresses the reliability problem of mobile ad hoc networks under link and node failure model. Node reliability is calculated as a function of no. of neighbor nodes, packet success rate, and device type and packet size. The presence of a link between any node pair is binary and its reliability is computed considering the distance between nodes and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). An efficient algorithm is proposed to analyze and calculate the reliability of mobile ad hoc networks considering multiple rou… Show more

“…A lot of studies research has conduct investigation behaviour versions of TCP in both wired and wireless communication (mobile or static) networks to ameliorate the quality of service in TCP's functioning [6][7][8][9][10]. But most ancient propositions are designed for wireless cellular networks or wired networks [11,12] here the only link join the mobile node [13][14][15] and the base station. However, however, MANETs are multi-hop networks in which data have to be diffused in different wireless links, between the sender and receiver.…”

“…A stochastic link failure model was used in for the reliability evaluation of wireless multihop networks. Recently, Panda and Dash evaluated the reliability of MANETs under link and node failure model. Besides, in Meena and Vasanthi, a method based on universal generating function for evaluating the reliability of MANETs has been proposed.…”

“…Clustering a network will significantly reduce the complexity of the application of (1) which is time consuming, and it is the principal source of computing delay. Breaking a network into several clusters will reduce the number of mathematical operations required to calculate (1). For example, if the nodes are divided into two equal groups, one for each cluster, the original N-node networks will be treated as two separated 2 networks.…”

“…This information exchange is only possible through optimum and reliable communication networks. Extensive works have been carried out in evaluating the reliability of wired and wireless networks [1]. Reliable communication networks play an essential role in managing and performing all the modern applications using heterogeneous networks [2].…”
