The reproductive performance of beef cows is highly contingent on the calcium (Ca), phosphorus (P) and copper (Cu). The aim of this study was to evaluate the availability of Ca, P and Cu in peat soil, forage, blood serum and their impact on reproductive performance of beef cows. This study was carried out at peatlands of Pulang Pisau district, Central Kalimantan Province through observation method supported by laboratory analysis. Reproductive performance data were obtained through direct interviews and recording cards. Soil and forage samples were taken from the main forage source locations. A total of 138 blood samples were taken through the jugular vein from Bali cows and their crossbred cows with different physiological status. Soil and blood serum samples were analyzed in laboratory using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) method, while forage samples were analyzed according to the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) method. The results showed that the availability of Ca and Cu both in peat soil and forage was very low, while that of P was quite high. The crossbred cows showed significantly higher concentration of Ca, P and Cu in blood serum if compared to Bali cows. However, the blood serum analysis of minerals suggested that there were Ca and Cu deficiency the beef cows raised in peatlands. In general, Ca and Cu deficiency in breeding cows raised in peatlands of Central Kalimatan Province had negative impact on reproductive performances including delayed age at puberty and first calving, delayed postpartum estrus and longer calving interval.

Puberty is controlled by specific physiological mechanisms, including the gonads, adenohypophysis gland, feed, heredity, and environmental factors associated with these organs. Sufficient quantities become necessary for normal endocrine function since lack of feed tends to cause delayed puberty in animals. Therefore, this study aims to show that meals can increase the estrus response by administering different forage in Bali cattle with delayed puberty. It was done using a completely randomized design with two groups: the control and the treatment. In the control part, the cattle were given straw and forage, while others in the treatment group were fed straw, forage, and concentrate in the morning and evening. This experiment was carried out at the Integrated Agricultural System, Sobangan Village, Mengwi Subdistrict, Badung Regency. The research results showed that the average estrus time for cows with concentrate feed was 43.13 days, while for those without concentrate, it was 58.17 days. Statistically, the addition of concentrate had a significant effect in accelerating the emergence of estrus. Meanwhile, two estrus scores called medium intensity were given to both groups. Cows fed with balanced nutrition and energy will have good sexual maturity development and show typical estrus symptoms such as restlessness on the vulva: clear mucus discharge, redness, swelling, and warmth. It can be concluded that adding concentrate to feed can overcome cases of delayed puberty in Bali cattle.

The Simantri program is a long-term regional initiative aimed at the welfare of Bali's farmers as well as self-sufficiency in food, feed, organic fertilizer, energy, and biogas. This study aims to determine the probability scenario and the scenario's sensitivity driving the Simantri program's sustainability. This study was conducted within the Tabanan Regency. The data for this purpose were gathered through interviews with Simantri farmers and 115 respondents as assistants using a structured questionnaire and Focus Group Discussions (FGD) with 19 funding experts or stakeholder groups. The SMIC-Prob Expert model analyzed data from the FGD results compared to or considered alongside the questionnaire results. The results of the analysis indicate that scenario combination "1101" (cattle, economic side, and commercial) has the highest probability, with a probability of 0.138. According to the elasticity-based sensitivity analysis, the cattle and commercial scenario is the "primary mover" or primary driver of the system. With cattle elasticity of 1.677 and a commercial elasticity of 1.344, the Simantri program's sustainability largely depends on these two scenarios. Sustainability recommendations for the Simantri program is "prime over”.
