Regimes, management and economics of energy complexes on the basis of renewable energy sources for autonomous power supply

Abstract: The article describes the principles of creation, management and economics of power complexes based on renewable energy sources for decentralized power supply. The introduction of energy complexes based on renewable energy sources can compete with the centralized power supply of the regions by increasing energy security and reducing the risks of major accidents and disasters. Long-term contracts for the electricity supply can be a reliable and economical insurance in case of rising fuel prices in the long term. Show more

“…The role and prospects for the use of renewable energy sources in Russia's Arctic have been discussed in a number of articles by Russian researchers [10]. They have considered the issues of integrating renewable energy systems in the Arctic climate [11], improving energy efficiency and the reliability of energy supply to remote oil and gas facilities in Russia [12][13][14], improving energy quality in off-grid systems [15], the management and economics of stand-alone power systems based on renewable energy sources [16], the development of the renewable energy sector and wind energy policies [17][18][19], methods for mitigating risks in managing the development of a local power industry [20], and prospects for binary-cycle power plants [21].…”

“…Principles of creation, management, and economics of power complexes based on renewable energy sources for decentralized power supply, as well as materials and technologies used in the production of equipment for power generation systems operating in harsh climatic conditions, including in northern regions, were considered in the works of authors from St. Petersburg Polytechnic University [65,66] and other authors [67]. It is also worth noting that many international studies aimed at developing autonomous power supply systems in the isolated mode for reliable power supply from renewable sources and a combination of energy types, depending on the required installed capacity and geographical location of power consumption facilities [68][69][70].…”

“…Известными недостатками ВИЭ являются изменчивость их энергетического потенциала и дороговизна оборудования (несмотря на устойчивый тренд удешевления). При этом рассмотрение различных сценариев участия ВИЭ в рамках энергетического перехода показывает возможность определения оптимальных моделей по стоимости, оптимального и целесообразного сочетания энергетических технологий, эффективных вариантов оптими-зации энергетических комплексов [16][17][18][19][20][21].…”
