Abstract: Prosthechea vitellina (Lindley) W. E. Higgins es una orquídea epífita endémica de México con valor ornamental y económico; está sujeta a protección especial por la NOM-059-SEMARNAT-2010 debido al comercio ilegal y la destrucción de su hábitat.
