Reflexões e propostas para a estruturação de programas de Mestrado em Medicina de Família e Comunidade no Brasil

Abstract: Resumo Embora a atenção primária à saúde (APS) e a medicina de família e comunidade (MFC) tenham aumentado seu espaço e relevância no cenário assistencial e nos cursos de graduação médica, não há cursos de pós-graduação “stricto sensu” em MFC no Brasil. “…14 Furthermore, research funding and stricto sensu postgraduate education (master's and doctorates) don't recognize family and community medicine or primary care as a scholarly discipline, and few universities have a department dedicated to either. 15 The lack of recognition of their scholarly discipline might compel family and community physicians in Brazil to engage in "intellectual discussions" (to borrow from Wakeling et al 3 ) with neighboring scholarly communities, such as other medical specialties or public health, rather than among themselves.
