Reduction of disc brake fading using both design and material optimization

Abstract: This study is to investigate, under extreme working conditions, the trend of the thermomechanical behavior of different brake rotors by means of FEM thermo-mechanical coupled analyses. More efficient designs are suggested and compared to existing ones, based on cooling capability.
