“…The T-DNA integrated into the plant cell genome, contains gens responsible for the biosynthesis of hormones (auxins and cytokines) leading to gall development and genes coded for biosynthesis of opines used as specific carbon and nitrogen sources for A. vitis development (Lacroix and Citovsky, 2013). The development of galls obstruct vascular tissue and restrict movement of water and nutrients into the vine above the gall, which affect grapevine growth and yield (Schroth et al, 1988). A. vitis is adapted to survive in the plants tissues without causing tumors until conditions becomes favorable for gall development.…”

“…), one of the world's most important fruit crops, is subject to a number of bacterial, fungal, and viral diseases (Pearson and Goheen, 1998). Grapevine crown gall, one of the major bacterial diseases of grapevines all over the world, causes serious economic losses in several grape-growing countries, including Korea (Burr et al, 1995;Schroth et al, 1988;Sule and Burr, 1998). More than one third of 'Kyoho' grapevines inspected in multiple locations had gall, and 56.3% of the galls covered more than 50% of the circumference of infected 'Kyoho' grapevines, which indicates that crown gall disease severely affects the cultivars grown in Korea (Park et al, 2000).…”
