Recombinants Rhizobacteria Enhanced Biological Control of Rhizoctonia solani infected Faba Bean

Abstract: This study aimed to test the effect of Rhizobium recombinants on the vegetative growth and yield components of faba bean under biotic stress of Rhizoctonia solani. Tweleve transconjugants resulted from six crosses were evaluated for their antigonism against Rhizoctonia solani. The results showed variations in chitin hydrolysis after genome shortening. At the molecular level, the recipient strains of rhizobia showed more similarity with each other. However, the donar strains of Serratia and pseudomonas showed l… Show more

“…These results were in line with findings of Tena et al (2016) that inoculated seeds with rhizobial species significantly increase plant biological yield kg ha-1 due to more uptake of dissolved nutrients and nitrogen by microbial activities as compare to noninoculated ones. Similar results have also been reported by (Kamal et al, 2020) that co-inoculation with Rhizobacterial species and enhanced vigor of lentil genotypes significantly improves biological yield kg ha -1 particularly under drought stress.…”
