Reclamation suitability evaluation of damaged mined land based on the integrated index method and the difference-product method

Abstract: Reclamation suitability evaluation is the basis for determining the reuse direction of damaged land. Most scholars' studies have focused on the improvement and innovation of evaluation models and methods, while the analysis of restrictive factors is rarely involved. This paper evaluates the reclamation suitability of damaged land around Longchi coal mine by the integrated index method and the analysis of restrictive factors is carried out by the difference-product method. The result shows damaged land around t… Show more

“…The exploitation of mineral resources not only promotes economic development, but also destroys land resources (Hu 2009 ). Land reclamation is an effective way to solve these contradictions (Cheng and Sun 2018). The suitability evaluation of land reclamation is a comprehensive assessment of the suitability and utilization degree of a certain use mode after land reclamation according to the natural, economic and social attributes of the land in the land reclamation project area.…”

“…The suitability evaluation of land reclamation provides a basis for the nal determination of land reclamation direction, the formulation of reclamation technology and reclamation standards, so as to avoid blindness and secondary damage in land reclamation and achieve the goal of rational utilization of land to the maximum extent. Therefore, the suitability evaluation of land reclamation is the premise for determining the reclamation planning of damaged land (Cheng and Sun 2018), which provides the basis for the direction of reclamation land reuse, the selection of improvement measures and the decision-making of land use planning (Cheng et al 2016;Cheng and Sun 2018).…”

“…Land reclamation was commonly considered as an effective tool to address the conflict between mining activities and farmland protection [12]. Suitability evaluation or determining optimal land use is the key point for land reclamation [13]. However, the complex and multiple problems in HGCB regions required land reclamation projects to not only resolve the land degradation and loss problems but also to arrange residents' living space and create a good land use ecosystem.…”

“…A plethora of methods have been developed for land use suitability evaluation. For example, Cheng et al [13] evaluated the reclamation suitability of damaged mine land using the integrated index and the difference-product method. Palogos et al [17] designed the optimal land use for reclamation based on evolutionary algorithms.…”
