Recent Advances in Hemostasis at the Nanoscale

Abstract: Rapid and effective hemostatic materials have received wide attention not only in the battlefield but also in hospitals and clinics. Traditional hemostasis relies on materials with little designability which has many limitations. Nanohemostasis has been proposed since the use of peptides in hemostasis. Nanomaterials exhibit excellent adhesion, versatility, and designability compared to traditional materials, laying a good foundation for future hemostatic materials. This review first summarizes current hemostat… Show more

“…Blood is the most important fluid connective tissue in the human body. In the human body, blood plays a variety of physiological functions such as gas transportation, material transportation, immune detection and etc., which is an important component to maintain normal operation within the body ( Hoffman et al, 2004 ; Li et al, 2017 ; Makhov and Zakharov, 2018 ; Wang et al, 2019 ). Hemorrhage cause by wars, car accidents and trauma around the world causes mortality of many soldiers and civilians every year ( Eastridge et al, 2012 ; Shlaifer et al, 2017 ).…”
