Recent Advances in Graphitic Carbon Nitride-Based Chemiluminescence, Cataluminescence and Electrochemiluminescence

Abstract: Graphitic carbon nitride (g-C 3 N 4 ) has attracted considerable attention due to its special structure and properties, such as its good chemical and thermal stability under ambient conditions, low cost and non-toxicity, and facile synthesis. Recently, g-C 3 N 4 -based sensors have been demonstrated to be of high interests in the areas of sensing due to the unique optical, electronic and catalytic properties of g-C 3 N 4 . This review focuses on the most salient advances in luminescent sensors based on g-C 3 N… Show more

“…In addition, chemical functional groups and electronic properties of the GCN can be easily varied through simple modification 25–27 , which makes it a promising photocatalyst for H 2 O 2 production. Although GCN with good biocompatibility has been also employed as a peroxidase-mimicking nanozyme for glucose detection 2830 (Supplementary Table 1), its GOx-mimicking behaviour has never been explored in enzymatic tandem cascade (domino) reactions for colorimetric detection of glucose.…”

“…The defects of the MWCNTs walls are decorated with oxygen-containing functional groups involved in redox catalysis of the electron transfer [73,74]. (5,5) Armchair (9,0) Zigzag Graphitic carbon nitride g-C3N4 (Figure 3) is obtained by the polymerization of nitrogen rich precursors (cyanamide, urea, thiourea, melamine) performed by physical vapor deposition, CVD, solvothermal method or solid-state reaction [75]. The above reactions result in the formation of a non-volatile product, which can be transferred into the various nano-and microstructures, including nano flacks and microrods by exfoliation conducted under partial oxidation, sonication or chemical treatment.…”
