Recent advancements in organic synthesis catalyzed by graphene oxide metal composites as heterogeneous nanocatalysts

Abstract: In the last decades, heterogeneous catalysis has emerged as a promising approach for sustainable synthesis. Among this, metal‐based graphene oxide (GO) as catalysts is widely used due to their unique properties such as physical and thermal stability of the catalysts in successive reaction runs and reusability. Metal‐supported GOs are quite prevalent and probably suitable acidic catalysts for both research laboratories and industrial processes. Herein, we have described the catalytic efficiency of various metal… Show more

“…[34] Another review has been published in 2020 by Jay Soni's groups, which discusses Suzuki, Heck, and oxidation/reduction. [35] Nevertheless, we covered recently published articles and additionally discussed graphene synthesis methods, graphene as carbo-catalysis, and Cross dehydrogenative coupling (CDC) reactions in liquid phase heterogeneous catalysis. We have investigated articles published from 2011 to till date.…”

“… 1 This ultrathin 2D carbocatalyst, using its inherent reactivity of oxidation, acidity and catalytic activity, has been successfully applied to oxidation, acid- or base-catalyzed transformations, oxidative coupling of amines, hydration of alkynes, aza-Michael addition reactions of amines and α,β-unsaturated compounds, ring opening of epoxy compounds, and dehydrogenation–oxidation of nitrogen heterocycles. 2 However, GO as a catalyst in organic transformation still faces serious challenges, compared with its applications in electronics, optical materials, solar cells and biosensors. 3 …”
