Reallocating Charging Loads of Electric Vehicles in Distribution Networks

Abstract: Abstract:In this paper, the charging loads of electric vehicles were controlled to avoid their impact on distribution networks. A centralized control algorithm was developed using unbalanced optimal power flow calculations with a time resolution of one minute. The charging loads were optimally reallocated using a central controller based on non-linear programming. Electric vehicles were recharged using the proposed control algorithm considering the network constraints of voltage magnitudes, voltage unbalances,… Show more

“…Indeed, Africa’s infrastructure investment needs reached US$130–170bn in 2018, with a financing gap of US$68–108bn (Arbouch et al , 2020). Yet, considering the significant economic potential of Africa (business opportunities, raw materials and affordable workforce) (Al Essa, 2016), the continent appealed an upward trend of investment into the CS since 2017 (Figure 9) to register YoY growth of 53% in 2018 and 5.3% in 2019 (Essop, 2020). However, in 2020, the FDI averagely decreased by 32.5% (UNCTAD, 2020a, 2020b) and African construction experienced a decrease of almost one-fifth (19.8%) of its total value compared to 2019 (Deloitte Group, 2021).…”
