Realization of current-mode general nth-order filter based on current mirrors

Abstract: A current-mode general nth-order filter configuration using current mirrors is proposed in the paper. The filter uses n basic current mirrors and n unloss integrators, and can realize low pass, high pass, band pass, band reject and all pass filtering responses by changing input signal forms. As a design example, a fourth-order filter related CMOS circuit is presented. The computer simulation of transistor is carried out and PSPICE simulation results show that the proposed circuit is valid. The circuit has seve… Show more

“…Furthermore, it is possible to control the output current gain. Nevertheless, it's crucial to emphasize that the current-controlled transconductance amplifier (CCTA) remains unaffected by parasitic resistances at the current input port [7][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15] as passive parts, it may be manufactured as a monolithic chip. Electronic modification of the pole frequency and quality factor is achievable.…”

“…Gm-C filters have been widely utilized, from consumer products to computer peripherals, owing to their exceptional highfrequency performance and straightforward design [1][2][3][4][5]. With a reduced power supply voltage, the significance of this factor becomes more pronounced, particularly as the demand for portable systems continues to increase.…”

“…With a reduced power supply voltage, the significance of this factor becomes more pronounced, particularly as the demand for portable systems continues to increase. The highfrequency operation of Gm-C filters poses challenges due to the rapid degradation of F.C.S performance [1]. The integrator serves as the primary constituent in the Gm-C filter topology, wherein it may be implemented through a transconductor component coupled with a capacitor [2].…”
