“…Previous SWE studies have proposed various cutoff values for distinguishing different fibrosis stages, such as early/no fibrosis, advanced fibrosis and cirrhosis (Beland et al 2014; Jeong et al 2014; Samir et al 2015; Sporea et al 2014). Some of these studies have focused on identifying cutoff values for the diagnosis of METAVIR fibrosis stage F2 and higher (Beland et al 2014; Jeong et al 2014; Samir et al 2015).…”

“…Some of these studies have focused on identifying cutoff values for the diagnosis of METAVIR fibrosis stage F2 and higher (Beland et al 2014; Jeong et al 2014; Samir et al 2015). However, these cutoff values have been generated from single data sets and have not, to our knowledge, subsequently been validated on independent cohorts.…”

“…Noninvasive quantitative methods such as point shear wave elastography are used to measure tissue stiffness . An alternative method of biopsy in children is becoming increasingly necessary.…”

“…One of the advantages of APRI and Forns index over the other noninvasive tests is that they are based on readily available blood tests and simple to use. Although these strategies have been widely applied in the past decade for hepatitis C evaluation [15,16] , their accuracy for CHB grading are still not comparable with liver biopsy. Therefore, a combined use of these non-invasive methods may be another promising and practical diagnostic application in CHB patients.…”
