Abstract: <p align="left">The purpose of this study was to examine the adaptation, reliability and validity of a “reading attitude scale” that was developed by McKenna and Kear (1990) to determine the reading attitudes of students.  The study was conducted with 318 students attending to 5<sup>th</sup>,6<sup>th</sup>,7<sup>th</sup>, and 8<sup>th</sup> grades in Trabzon.
