“…As imilar tendency was found for tetraacylgermanes and -silanes. [6,16] The analytical data for 1a and b (see the Supporting Information) are consistent with the proposed structures. As ar epresentative example, the structure of 1a is depicted in Figure1.T he structural features of these tin derivatives correlate with the resultso btained for acylgermanes.D i-ortho substitutioni nduces as ignificant torsion between the carbonyl group and the aromatic ring plane.T he SnÀCb ondl ength is similart ot he values found for other SnÀCsingle bonds.…”

“…The most widely applied method for the synthesis of acyl silanes is the Corey–Seebach reaction . Since this method did not lead to the successful preparation of the desired TTBS due to the sterically demanding mesitoyl group, a synthesis approach according to Ohshita et al, was envisaged, but did not work out as well. Based on Marschner's potassium silanide (Me 3 Si) 3 SiK, therefore, we developed an alternative protocol for the preparation of TTBS (Figure ).…”

“…Therefore, the aim of this study was the synthesis and photochemical characterization of a tetraacylsilane, that has been described by Ohshita et al With four acyl groups present, the tendency of the formation of a siloxycarbene could probably be reduced. Sterically demanding mesitoyl groups should improve the storage stability.…”

“…The signals at 225.3 (3a), 224.5 (3b), and 224.8 (3c) ppm in 13 C-NMR spectra are ascribed to the carbonyl carbon signals, which are at higher field relative to the typical acylsilanes (ca. 240 ppm) [39,40]. However, these chemical shift values are significantly lower than those for typical ketones like benzophene (δ 196.7) and acetophenone (δ 198.2), indicating the unique electronic feature of acylsilanes.…”
