Abstract: RESUMO O Brasil detém o maior rebanho bovino comercial do mundo, baseado na utilização de pastagens. Atualmente, o uso de leguminosas forrageiras vem crescendo, em consorciação com poáceas ou exclusiva (bancos de proteínas), entre as quais Stylosanthes capitata Swartz. tem se destacado.
