Rapid screening of amitraz and its metabolite residues in honey using a quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe extraction method coupled with UHPLC and Q Exactive

Abstract: A method for determining amitraz and 2,4-dimethylaniline in honey was established by using ultra-high-performance liquid chromatoghaphy and Q Exactive after applying quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged, and safe extracting process. A suitable extraction method was designed to extract the amitraz and 2,4-dimethylaniline after a suitable amount of honey samples was dissolved. A Thermo Syncronis C 18 column (100 × 2.1 mm, 1.7 μm) was used for chromatographic separation of the samples. Then the two compounds were… Show more

“…Based on the chemical properties of AA and the complexity of the sample matrix, this experiment used 0.1% formic-acid–water–methanol as the mobile phase for chromatographic separation, which is a synthesis of various methods from the literature 9,17,29,30 to improve the ion response intensity and obtain enhanced peak shape. According to the characteristics of the target compound and the existing conditions, 26,31 this method selected the CAPCELL PAK ADME chromatographic column, which is a column with a stereocage-like adamantyl functional group and ultra-high surface polarity, while balancing a certain hydrophobicity. This column could achieve good retention and separation for complex samples with polar and hydrophobic compounds.…”
