“…AMPC is not substantially metabolized, as 60 to 75% is excreted unchanged in urine, but some AMPC is metabolized to amoxicilloic acid and amoxicillin diketopiperazine-2Ј,5Ј-dione (40). In the last decade, numerous studies concerning either the uptake or the elimination of ␤-lactam antibiotics have been undertaken using as models in vitro-isolated hepatocytes, Xenopus oocytes, and renal cell lines expressing carrier-mediated transporters (10,23,50).…”

“…Li et al found that penicilloic acid is stable in the form of salts or esters in neutral solutions, however, under high temperature, acidity and in presence of b-lactamase, penicilloic acid is unstable, thereby it could not be used as a standard for accurate analysis of penicilloic acid by b-lactamase using UPLC-ESI-TOF-MS . Nevertheless, Reyns et al and De Baere et al researched that amoxicilloic acid was quite stable and could be quantitatively analysed in animal tissues (Reyns T et al, 2008;De Baere S et al, 2002). In this work, the use of penicilloic acid is in the form of salts, and the method validation showed that penicilloic acid was stable under the process of MSPD-HPLC.…”

“…The recoveries of AMO, AMA, DIKETO and AMP using 20 mL of acetonitrile exceeded 84.27%, 81.22%, 89.45% and 91.37%, respectively, which confirmed the reliability of this method. Reyns et al (2008) reported a method to remove proteins by a centrifugation step using a 30-kDa cut-off filter for 30 min. However, this step extended the analysis time of the egg samples and reduced the number of samples that could be analyzed within a set timeframe.…”
