Rapid Biosynthesis Method and Characterization of Silver Nanoparticles Using Zizyphus spina christi Leaf Extract and Their Antibacterial Efficacy in Therapeutic Application

Abstract: Antibacterial activity of biosynthesized silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) was significant in therapeutic application of nanotechnology. These researchers studied an ecofriendly and rapid method for the first time to synthesize silver nanoparticles using Zizyphus spina christi L aqueous leaves extract (ZSE), and their antibacterial properties. The extract was found to have the potential to form silver nanoparticles at room temperature within few minutes. The green synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized… Show more

“…These peaks were due to the organic compounds that were present in the extract. Based on the results phytochemical coating of green synthesized nanoparticles caused some additional peaks at the X-ray spectra in comparison with sharp and unique peaks for chemically synthesized nanoparticles [50]. The antioxidant activity of D. stramonium aqueous extract has been previously reported, and it was very similar to the current study [51].…”

“…Sidr leaves extract reduced the metal ions under all parameters used and the absorbance peak was detected by UV-Vis Spectrophotometer analysis. Similar finding has been reported in previous studies [34][35][36]. Garlic extract at concentrations [20, 25 gm ̸ 100 distilled water], boiling for 5-10 minutes, added at a percentage of 10 mL ̸ 90 mL aqueous silver ions, molar silver ion concentration [1 mM, 2mM] gave yellowish to faint brown color after incubation for 48 hours.…”

“…The X-Rays are generated by a cathode ray tube, filtered to produce monochromatic radiation and directed towards the sample. The interaction of the incident rays with the sample produces constructive interference, when conditions satisfy Bragg's law [16]. Synthesized Ag NPs (1 g) were uniformly spread on glass sample holder and placed in scanning chamber.…”
