Radiation-induced damage of the rat intestine after external beam irradiation of the liver.

Abstract: e21128 Background: Radiotherapy alone or in combination with systemic therapies, is a major tool for local tumor control. Although organ-targeting techniques have greatly been improved over the past years, radiation enteropathy is a dose-limiting factor for effective radiotherapy.
