Abstract:Geo-distributed systems ranging from databases to cyberphysical applications increasingly rely on a shared and precise notion of time to achieve coordination. This is especially true for cyber-physical applications ranging from local-scale robotic-coordination and city-scale traffic management to regional/planetary-scale smart grids. Each of these applications utilizes event orderings and timing offsets to make real-time decisions, so as to perform coordinated action at their distributed endpoints. The emergen… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
