Quantitative description of MLCT transitions in ruthenium polypyridyl complexes probed by two-photon absorption spectroscopy

Abstract: Quantitative two-photon absorption (2PA) cross section and 2PA spectrum measurements were used to determine the molecular electric dipole change in the metal-to-ligand charge-transfer transition of ruthenium(II) tris-complexes of 2,2'-bipyridine ([Ru(bpy)3] 2+ ) and 1,10phenanthroline ([Ru(phen)3] 2+ ) in several solvents.
