The global demand for seafood products increased in a dynamic environment. Still, fails to achieve competitive positioning due to labeling, unattractive and unprofitable targeted segments, and less preferred quality and features. Thus, this study tried to create competitive positioning through features, functions, and benefits of seafood product attributes. The results arranged through consumer characteristics, consumer preference with conjoint analysis, market identification and competition with regression analysis, Multidimensional Scaling, and Correspondence Analysis from 206 respondents. The results prove that (i) canned fish, dried fish, and salted fish competed on freshness, durability, and food safety (labels); (ii) shredded fish, surimi, and pedak competed on density, taste, physiological function, and easy-to-use feature; (iii) crackers competed on taste, social function, and psychological function; (iv) shrimp paste competed on shape, color, surface condition, texture, additive content, and chemicals. The implications of the results: (i) transported and packed to processing plants and food storage facilities; (ii) an increase in food diversity, food fortification, and supplementation; (iii) cultural congruence between the product and the market with certain packaging designs, launch timing, and advertising; (iv) several methods of process, such as quick freezing and cook-chilling, pasteurized before packed or retort pouch and natural food additives.

Product competitiveness that must be high in the MEA era does not only apply to industrial products, but also to fruit, including duku. The objectives of this study are (1)to explore consumer behavior in the duku fruit purchase decision process in the MEA era and (2)analyze consumer preferences for the fruit attributes so that it can be known what the ideal duku design is according to consumers. To explore consumer behavior used descriptive analysis, while for analyzing consumer preferences towards attributes using conjoined analysis. From the results of the study, consumer behavior through five stages, namely the introduction of needs, information search, alternative evaluation, purchase and post-purchase. From the results of the analysis, the thing that is considered most important in choosing the fruit attributes of duku is taste, seed size, price, fruit size, hardness of flesh, color of flesh, spots on the skin and skin color. Based on the results of consumer preference analysis, it can be concluded that consumers prefer duku which has the characteristics of sweetness, a small size of seeds, the price is less than IDR 8,000, the size of a large, flesh soft, clear color of flesh, spots are small and yellow skin color.

Oil palm plantations contribute to job creation and community welfare. Nevertheless, this commodity is still experiencing business sustainability problems among smallholders in Indonesia Certification Palm Oil (ISPO). This research studies the existing conditions of ISPO certified smallholders and has not been authenticated based on economic and social characteristics. The research was conducted in Batanghari Regency with the use of primary and secondary data. The result showed that the social aspects of smallholders who have ISPO certified are average in the productive age range. However, there are no differences in education at the primary level. As for the number of family members, smallholders who are certified than uncertified have a more significant number of family members. The farming experience of certified smallholders is lower than that of non-certified, related to the age of the crop owned to motivate and carry out sustainable agricultural practices. While from the economic aspect, based on the primary and other search points, the average number for certified is more concentrated with their palm oil cultivation by 73.86 percent than non-certified with diverse business activities. There are variations in the social and economic characteristics of certified and uncertified oil palm farmers. Good agricultural practices following the norms are necessary to ensure the sustainability of oil palm cultivation. In the future, smallholders are expected to encourage improved farming practices and improve their livelihood assets
