Show more

“…However, when the seeds were placed to dry at 50 °C, there is a reduction in root length of 7.5 cm to 12 cm within 24 h of drying. The results obtained can be seen that the seeds of this species are sensitive to desiccation, probably committed the seeds tissues, which is mainly reserve, resulting in lower transfer to the seedling growth (CARDOSO et al, 2015). The length of the seedlings aerial part derived from seeds of C. fairchildiana submitted to different periods of drying ( Figure 6) initially there was an increase in shoot length (8.67 cm), at 35 °C and decreased to (4.64 cm) after 14 h of drying, while in the temperature of 40 °C was achieved a length (6.68 cm) after 6 h of drying.…”

“…18, 4.38, 0.80, 12.13, 38.36, 109, and 542, respectively. The main factors that affect seed germination and consequently the emergence of T. esculenta seedlings are the fermentation period for pulp removal, the drying period, and temperature (Alves, Silva, Gonçalves, Cardoso, & Alves, 2009;Cardoso, Alves, & Alves, 2015). The difference in the volume of the container for the production of seedlings did not affect the emergence of Hancornia speciosa Gomes (A.…”

“…According to Alves et al (2015), the most durable drying process carried out with low temperatures, shakes the integrity of the grains less. This temperature is traditionally used for seed drying, as it preserves the quality and vigor of the product (CARDOSO et al, 2015).…”
