A B S T R A C TRapid tests to assess the nutritional status of plants gerbera can make easier the decision of any adjustments in the fertilization of the substrate. The study was conducted to evaluate nutritionally fertigated gerbera plants with increasing levels of electrical conductivity (EC), using portable meters nitrate and potassium, and chlorophyll. For this, two experiments were conducted. A randomized block design with five levels of EC (0.5, 2.0, 3.5, 5.0 and 6.5 dS m -1 ) and four replications was used. Cherry cultivar was used in the first experiment. In the second experiment, two cultivars (Cherry and Salmon Rose) were used. In the first experiment, the sap of the leaves was subjected to rapid testing of N-NO 3 -(equipment Cardy Horiba C -141). N-NO 3 -and K + (C-131) were determined in the substrate solution. The intensity of the green leaf, in the second experiment was evaluated with portable Chlorophyll Meter. The N content in the indicator leaf in the first and N and K contents in the plant in the second experiment were determined. Rapid tests are presented as good indicators of the level of N-NO 3 -and K + in plant tissue, with the advantages of convenience and speed of determination, facilitating monitoring of fertilization of the substrate by producers and technicians.Medidores portáteis para avaliação nutricional em plantas de gérbera fertirrigada com níveis de condutividade elétrica R E S U M O Os testes rápidos para avaliação do estado nutricional de plantas de gérbera podem tornar mais fácil a decisão de eventuais ajustes na fertilização do substrato. The cultivation of gerberas as cut flowers has been broadly studied. With the purpose of assess the production and visual quality of potted gerberas conducted with different fertilizations, the experiment was performed in a greenhouse located at UNIOESTE -Campus of Cascavel -Parana -Brazil. The experimental design was done in randomized blocks with four repetitions and five treatments. The treatments were defined based on the fertilization source: mineral (NPK) or organic. The organic fertilizations were obtained with the dilution of four organic composts derived from the composting process of agro-industrial wastes in water. The agro-industrial waste, used in different percentages in each treatment, were: grains pre-cleaning residues (corn meal and wheat husk); hatchery waste; flotation sludge; cellulose casing (sausage covering); solid fraction of pig slurry (Piglet Producer Unit) and truck washing; coal and ash remaining from boiler; poultry litter and sugarcane bagasse. The growth parameters were evaluated at the commercialization phase (plant height and diameter, stem height, capitulum number, and capitulum and stem diameter) and sensory analysis through trait and preference assessment tests. The use of liquid organic fertilizers are a feasible alternative to substitute conventional mineral fertilization. Farmers should observe EC values and K, Ca, Mg ratio for better quality assurance according to the results obtained in T 5 . The T 5 (Boiler remaining ash + Hatchery residue) has a larger amount of boiler remaining ash, whereas the chemical elements in mineral form are already readily available to the plants, this fact may have contributed to better visual development of plants grown in this treatment. RESUMOAnálise sensorial e pós colheita de gérbera envasada em função da adubação O cultivo de gérberas como flor de corte tem sido amplamente difundido na literatura. Com o objetivo de avaliar a produção e a qualidade visual de gérberas envazadas conduzidas com adubações diferenciadas, o experimento foi conduzido em estufa, localizada na UNIOESTE -Câmpus de Cascavel -PR. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados com quatro repetições e cinco tratamentos. Os tratamentos foram definidos em função da fonte da adubação, mineral (NPK) ou orgânica. As adubações orgânicas foram obtidas pela diluição em água de quatro compostos orgânicos provenientes do processo de compostagem de resíduos agroindustriais. O presente trabalho foi conduzido com o objetivo de avaliar o teor e o acúmulo de micronutrientes em quatro cultivares de gérbera fertirrigadas com duas soluções nutritivas. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação de maio a julho de 2006 no DRN/Ciência do Solo na FCA, Unesp, município de Botucatu/SP, Brasil. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi o de blocos casualizados, constituído de fatorial 4x2, sendo quatro cultivares de gérbera (Cherry, Golden Yellow, Salmon Rose e Orange) e duas concentrações de solução nutritiva (S1-50% e S2-100%). Ao final dos períodos vegetativo (41 DAA) e reprodutivo (62 DAA), foram quantificados o teor e o acúmulo dos micronutrientes no tecido vegetal da parte aérea. A cultivar Orange acumulou menor quantidade de micronutrientes (59 mg kg-1 B, 5 mg kg-1 Cu, 180 mg kg-1 Fe, 46 mg kg-1 Mn, ao final do ciclo) em relação às demais cultivares. O fornecimento da solução nutritiva mais concentrada se refletiu em maior teor dos micronutrientes no tecido. O maior acúmulo foi registrado no período reprodutivo, apresentando a seguinte ordem de absorção: Fe>Mn>B>Zn>Cu (237, 72, 71, 30 e 6 µg planta-1). ABSTRACT Micronutrients in potted gerbera cultivarsThe present work aimed at evaluating the contents and accumulation in four different gerbera cultivars subjected to fertigation with two nutritive solutions. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, from May to July 2006, at DNR, Soil Science Sector, Agronomical Sciences College, UNESP, Botucatu, São Paulo State. The experiment was installed in randomized blocks and constituted of a 4x2 factorial scheme, being four gerbera cultivars (Cherry, Golden Yellow, Salmon Rose and Orange) and two concentrations of nutritive solution (S1-50% and S2-100%), corresponding to the electrical conductivity of 0,92 and 1,76 dS m-1, during the vegetative period and 1,07 and 2,04 dS m-1, during the reproductive one. By the end of the vegetative (41 DAA) and reproductive (62 DAA) periods, were quantified the contents and accumulation of the micronutrients in vegetal tissue. The nutrients demands had been differentiated between the cultivars, smaller to Orange (59 mg kg-1 B, 5 mg kg-1 Cu, 180 mg kg-1 Fe, 46 mg kg-1 Mn, at the end of cycle). The supply of nutrient solution more concentrated reflected in a higher content of micronutrient in the tissue. The greatest accumulations had been registered at the reprodutive period, presentig the following order of absortion Fe>Mn>B>Zn>Cu (237, 72, 71, 30 e 6 µg plant-1).
