Show more

“…The averages of the density bark varied significantly from one site to another, the values of 0.28 g cm -3 (site 1) and 0.26 g cm -3 (site 2) are similar to those observed by Juízo, Lima and Silva (2017), which evaluated the bark of nine species of Eucalyptus for the charcoal production.…”

“…Eucalyptus species are widely used for energy, due to its adaptive conditions. In a study developed by Juizo et al (2017), with nine Eucalyptus species, the ash content varied between 0.35 to 0.58%. The rubber tree clones progeny presented values above the Eucalyptus, however it is not a restrictive characteristic for biomass, since the percentages are within standard range.…”

“…Components that fit in alkaline metals at low combustion temperatures ranges between 500-550ºC (Nunes et al 2016) may result in the process of converting biomass into energy depreciation in the boiler, impairing the energy performance of the biomass that is intended to be used for power generation (Magdziarz et al, 2018).…”

“…Some of the properties of wood that most influence charcoal yield, according to Carneiro et al (2017a) and Juizo et al (2017), are the lignin, carbon and hydrogen contents. The coefficients of variation found for such wood properties were low, which may justify the low coefficient of variation obtained for the yield.…”
