QoS‐aware routing and power control algorithm for multimedia service over multi‐hop mobile ad hoc network

Abstract: This paper presents a QoS (quality of service) aware routing and power control algorithm consuming low transmission power for multimedia service over mobile ad hoc network. Generally, multimedia services need stringent QoS over the network. However, it is not easy to guarantee the QoS over mobile ad hoc network since its network resources are very limited and time‐varying. Furthermore, only a limited amount of power is available at mobile nodes, which makes the problem more challenging. We propose an effective… Show more

“…A segment routing algorithm is proposed by Lee and Sheu [12] with segment routing, which focuses on balancing the traffic load on different routes and reducing the size of the network packet. Lee et al [13] proposed a routing aware algorithm. Huang et al [14] and Wan et al [15] proposed an assessment system that focused on SDN routing.…”

“…In the projected algorithm and work the path (route) consists of various nodes, including the source and destination, and their transmission power. In the route establishment phase [10], the sender node broadcast RREQ packet with its power strength and minimum bandwidth to its immediate neighbor. When a neighbor node receives the RREQ packet, its checks the distance from the source node and updates the RREQ packet and broadcasts to its neighbor.…”

“…AQOR [13] was one of the well-known QoS aware protocols that computed the available bandwidth and end-to-end delay per flow QoS requirement. In addition, other enhanced routing protocols [14][15][16] that dealt with QoS services have explored various routing metrics such as interference, power consumption, and traffic levels. However, they were generally operated in wireless local area network (WLAN) environments such as IEEE 802.11 DCF and IEEE 802.11e, which was not directly applicable to WSNs.…”
