Die diastereoisomeren 1-und 2-Hydroxypyrrolizidine lassen sich nach klassischen Methoden mitHilfe von D-, L-und D,L-Campher-10-sulfonsaure sowie D-3-Bromcampher-3-sulfonsaure in die Enantiomere trennen. Deren absolute Konfiguration ergibt sich durch Vergleich mit optisch aktivem, aus L-Prolin dargestellten 1-Hydroxypyrrolizidin sowie durch Auswertung der CD-Spektren.
