PWM control techniques for three phase three level inverter drives

Abstract: In this paper two very efficient pulse width modulation techniques were discussed named Sin pulse width modulation and space vector pulse width modulation. The basic structure of the three-level inverter neutral-point clamped is introduced and the basic idea about space vector pulse width modulation for three-level voltage source inverter has been discussed in detail. Nearest three vectors space vector pulse width modulation control algorithm is adopted as the control strategy for the three phase three level N… Show more

“…This regulation makes it easy in restraining the igniting progression, and hence, reduces igniting losses as shown in Figures 14 and 15. Too, it will uphold balance in the ignition waveform at the room phasor PWM crop to repress THD [23], [24]. By paying attention to Figure 7, we get: Igniting the transistor to control the turning round of the three-phase AC motor is expected to be precise because the target is moving at high velocity [25].…”

“…The authors of [25] present a detailed control strategies utilized by active filters to reduce harmonic distortions. The filtering performance of an active filter depend on its control strategies including the reference current extraction [26]- [29], DC-link voltage regulation [30], current control [31], [32], and synchronization [33], [34]. Nevertheless, active filters are more frequently used in high-speed railway (HSR) because HSR produces uncertainty of high-frequency harmonic distortions [13], [35] and harmonic resonance [14], [36] which can cause the transient instability of the high-speed train (HST) tractive drive system and disrupt the operations of sensitive devices [37].…”
