PVA Capped Mn-Doped ZnS Encapsulated Nontoxic MoS2 Nano-Sheet Probe for the Sensitive Estimation of Cardiovascular β-Blocking Agent Acebutolol in Biomedical and Environmental Samples

Abstract: A novel sensor PVA capped Mn-doped ZnS incorporated MoS2 nanosheet composite modified gold electrode (PVA-Mn:ZnS/MoS2@GE) has been developed for the determination of acebutolol (ACB). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and square wave voltammetry (SWV) were used to measure the electrochemical performance of ACB. Use of the nanocomposite PVA-Mn:ZnS/MoS2 as a modifier in electrode-based sensors results in well-resolved peaks and improved electrochemical current sensitivity compared to a bare gold electrode. Using the SWV … Show more

“…The existence of two linear regions with different slopes in the calibration curve can be explained by the saturation of the electrode surface with analyte. 17 On the other hand, the oxidation of GMB is an irreversible reaction; hence, after adding high concentrations of GMB, there may be an accumulation of intermediate and oxidized molecules at the modified electrode surface. The strong interaction of the reactant, intermediates, and products on the electrode surface may affect the electron transfer rate.…”

“…In recent years, electrochemical techniques have become more popular than other analytical techniques because of their high sensitivity, low instrumentation cost, fast response time, simplicity, less reagent consumption and elimination of tedious extraction procedures. [14][15][16][17][18] Among the electrochemical techniques, electrochemical sensors have gained much attention due to their high sensitivity, rapid response time, good selectivity and potential for instrument miniaturization. [19][20][21][22] Carbon paste electrode (CPE) is a widely used device for determining drugs, vitamins and other species because of its specific properties, such as high sensitivity, wide potential window, and low residual currents.…”
