Push‐out bond strength of root fillings made with C‐Point and BC sealer versus gutta‐percha and AH Plus after the instrumentation of oval canals with the Self‐Adjusting File versus WaveOne

Abstract: In oval canals, the instrument used and the root filling material significantly affected the push-out values of root fillings. The highest value was recorded in oval root canals instrumented with the SAF System and filled with C-Point and BC sealer, whereas the lowest strength was noted in oval canals instrumented with WaveOne and filled with gutta-percha and AH Plus sealer.

“…15 It is also reported that the SAF system was associated with cleaner radicular walls (free of debris) apically. 31 There is no study reported in literature using SAF in primary teeth; hence, this file was included in this study as it is being advantageous in permanent teeth. The apparatus used in this study was based on the one developed by Myers and Montgomery.…”

“…The use of Bioceramic cones, ActiV GP or C-Point might have helped to increase the bonding strength. C-Point with Endoequence BC Sealer, according to Pawar et al [ 21 ] is claimed to push the sealer radially, enabling a more intimate adaptation with the irregular spaces of canal walls.…”
