Punk rock français et multilinguisme : l’exemple du groupe Mano Negra

Abstract

L'objet de cet article est le multilinguisme du groupe Mano Negra (1986-1994), fondé à Sèvres (Paris) par Manu Chao et d'autres membres de sa famille. Ce groupe a été particulièrement connu pour son répertoire éclectique et sa manière originale d'aborder une multiplicité de langues. De manière générale, l'article se base sur la thèse de doctorat intitulée Mano Negra-Historiographie und Analyse im interkulturellen Kontext (University of Passau, 2015) mais il présente aussi des résultats additionnels concernant l'usage des langues. La méthode utilisée est celle de l'analyse des titres de chanson, à partir d'un corpus rassemblant quatre albums studio : Patchanka,
