The purpose of the study was to examine the use of rewards and punishment to improve discipline in Yiadom Boakye Demonstration Junior High School students (JHS) in Berekum of Ghana. A qualitative approach was adopted for the study. A case study research design was used to analyse the study. The population for the study consisted of all the eight (8) teachers in the Yiadom Boakye Demonstration Junior High School (JHS). A purposive sampling technique was used to select the eight teachers and school for the study. The main instrument used for the study was an interview. The study concluded that rewards and punishment lead to a change in the behaviours of the students affecting their academic performance their courses. The study also concluded that reward policies are needed in teaching to improve student learning by fostering enthusiasm in learning; it arouses students' interest in learning, and change their personality traits and posture in class. The study revealed that a good punishment minimises bad behaviour, once is not having any bases on the student academic life, then it will not worsen the plight of his or her academic life. It is recommended that the colleges of education in Ghana should collaborate with Ghana Education Service and National Teaching Council to organise workshops and seminars on the use of rewards and punishments in the classroom situation.

The Qur'an is the word of God which was revealed to be a guide for human life in all its roles and aspects. In it, of course, there is a lot of wisdom and knowledge that people can study, especially those related to education. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach and intended to explore the wisdom and knowledge related to education mentioned in the Al Fatihah surah by relying on Teun A. Van Dijk's Discourse Analysis theory. The results of this study include: First, implicitly the verses in the Al Fatihah surah are educational verses, where Allah teaches humans to know who their God is and who they are. More than that, through this verse Allah also teaches how humans should position themselves before their Lord. Second, implicitly also the verses in the Al-Al Fatihah contain the basic principles of learning methodology. This research is limited to exploring the meaning of education in the Al Fatihah surah. Therefore, it is suggested that future research be able to examine the application of the meaning of education to the Al Fatihah surah for students.

Teachers’ roles are dynamic among all the factors contributing to educational achievements. Teachers’ performance is an important factor associated with policy implementation and organizational outcomes. This article elicited the teachers’ perceptions of fundamental factors affecting the teaching profession. The study conducted a focus group interview and analyzed it. A list of indicated factors was prepared and corroborated with existing literature. An online survey was conducted, and participants were asked to rank these suggested factors in order of priority for amelioration to sustain the teaching profession. The interdependence of preferences in identified seven critical areas was tested through teachers’ demographics. The finding discussed factors affecting the teaching profession, including current issues in Pakistan's education sector. This study illustrates factors for prioritizing policy reforms through teachers’ insights.
