“…In one study only, in the metric analysis of the Chinese version of The Barriers Scale , the authors used the qualification variable to estimate the construct validity for known groups, affirming that this validity rests on the fact that higher scores were observed among nurses with a higher education level. Nurses holding a Master's degree or higher presented higher mean barrier scores for the use of research results in (x̅=2.91) when compared to nurses holding an undergraduate degree (x̅=2.69; p=0.001) 16 .…”

“…Both scales were originally tested on a sample comprising 394 nurses from five states in the United States who had attended continuing education workshops on EBP in 2005 and 2006 (Melnyk, Fineout‐Overholt, & Mays, ). The EBP‐B and EBP‐I scales have been translated, and their psychometric properties have been evaluated in Chinese (Wang et al., ), Icelandic (Thorsteinsson, ), Norwegian (Stokke, Olsen, Espehaug, & Nortvedt, ) as well as Slovak and Czech (Zeleníková et al., ). The translation processes were rigorous and all showed good psychometric properties, corroborating closely with those of the original versions (Melnyk, Fineout‐Overholt, & Mays, ).…”

“…Still, the psychometric properties of the EBP-BS have been tested in the U.S. [9] [15], China [16] and Iceland [17], and these studies generally report that the EBP-BS has a well-established construct validity and acceptable internal consistency reliability. Previous research by both Melnyk et al [9] and Thorsteinsson [17] concluded that the EBP-BS had a unidimensional factor structure.…”
