These findings support the internal consistency of the instrument when applied to different contexts and samples, as well as the coherence and integration of its items, suggesting that they evaluate the same construct, i.e., fear, avoidance and the physiological symptoms associated with SAD.…”

“…Other studies were later conducted with the SPIN in order to determine its psychometric qualities in different contexts [2][3][4][5][6] , These studies were conducted on three versions of the instrument in addition to the original one (Brazilian 2 , Finnish 6 and French 5 versions) applied to samples of the clinical and non-clinical population of adults and of the non-clinical population of adolescents. The values detected for all the psychometric qualities studied were quite close to and in agreement with the findings of the original study by Connor et al 1 , supporting the adequacy of the SPIN for the evaluation of SAD in different languages, countries and cultures.…”
