Psychometric Properties of the French Version of the Short Form of the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory Among Adolescents and Young Adults

Abstract: We examined the psychometric qualities of the Short Form of the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory (SF-CSEI) in a large sample of French adolescents and young adults. A 25-item French version was administered to 1,362 participants (561 aged below 16 years and 801 aged 16-25 years). Participants also completed other scales to measure construct validity (e.g., Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale, and General Health Questionnaire). Factorial analysis yielded evidence for a structure … Show more

“…To which the respondent selects either “Like Me/Unlike Me.” The categorical scoring procedure means that calculation of alpha coefficients cannot be made. Recent research in the development of a French version of the questionnaire showed it psychometric properties and validity and argued the relevance of the construct and measure to prevention and health practice (Potard et al, ).…”

“…Кратката форма на въпросника на Купърсмит за самооценка при деца от 8 до 15 години (форма B, Short Form of the Coopersmith Self-Esteem Inventory -SF-CSEI) включва 25 айтема (Bedeian, 1976;Bedeian, Teague, & Zmud, 1977;Coopersmith, 1981a;Francis, 1997;Hills, Francis, & Thomas, 2007;Hills, Francis, & Jennings, 2011;Lane, White, & Henson, 2002;McCarthy & Hoge, 1984;Potard et al, 2015).
