Abstract: Interest in self-esteem has been fuelled by the suggestion that level of selfesteem is associated with psychological well-being. In the present study, we translated the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) into the Dutch language and evaluated its psychometric properties in a sample of 442 adults. “…The factor of competence has the conceptual room to accommodate such things as Bandura's (1986) notion of self-efficacy (Mruk, 2013). To measure self-esteem, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (RSES) was used (Franck, De Raedt, Barbez, & Rosseel, 2008;Rosenberg, 1965;Vallieres & Vallerand, 1990). “…

“…The RSES yields an overall score, with a maximum of 30 and a minimum of 0. The Dutch version has shown high internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = .86) and high congruent validity (Franck, De Raedt, Barbez, & Rosseel, 2008). always commenced with a consistent block of trials.…”
