Students' mental health and well-being are increasingly recognized as urgent and important needs in engineering education. Mindfulness-based interventions, in which students learn and practice present-focused techniques such as meditation and deep breathing, have been demonstrated to positively affect college students' well-being. The use of such interventions for engineering students specifically, however, has not been thoroughly examined. In this work, we examine the feasibility and utility of a group-based mindfulness intervention for 48 undergraduate engineering students. Participants completed four weekly, one-hour group mindfulness sessions led by the study authors.Qualitative and quantitative data were collected before and after the intervention to assess the impact of the intervention on participants' trait mindfulness, perceived stress, intellectual curiosity and exploration, and weekly mindfulness practices. Compared to participants in a control condition, participants engaging in the group intervention demonstrated an increase in trait mindfulness and weekly mindfulness practice, and lower perceived stress. The intervention did not have a significant impact on participants' intellectual curiosity and exploration. The group mindfulness intervention was well-received, with a majority of participants attending all four sessions, rating them as helpful, and reporting that they would retain the length and frequency of the sessions. Results suggest that group-based mindfulness practices may be a feasible way to support the well-being of undergraduate engineering students. We conclude with a discussion of the applications and implications of this work for other educators.

Background: Religious health fatalism belief that health outcome is only determined by God without seeking treatment. Tools are needed to measure fatalism among patients with chronic disease, especially diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) patients. The aim of this study was to conduct psychometric test of religious health fatalism questionnaire (RHFQ) including translation, validation, reliability, and cut-off point among DFU out-patients. Design and methods: This study employed cross sectional design, using self-report questionnaire. Data were collected from diabetes clinic in five hospitals, Indonesia. The inclusion criteria were patients who had history of DFU more than 2 years. Total sample in this study was 184 patients. This study was conducted from April to June 2021. Permission to use the RHFQ was permitted by the original author. We conducted translation and adaptation questionnaire to Bahasa. We employed reliability test with internal consistency, construct validity, and convergent validity. Construct validity was evaluated using exploratory factor analysis (EFA). Cut-off point RHS was analyzed using receiver operating characteristic (ROC). ROC was evaluated using correlation score between total score RHFQ and CDRISC-25 Indonesia version. Previous study mentioned that resilience is a predictor of religious. The Cronbach’s alpha for RHFQ Indonesia version was adequate. Results: EFA showed adequate with Kaiser–Meyer-Olkin (KMO) value of 0.72 and the Bartlett’s test of sphericity was significant. According to ROC curve analysis, the cut-off point at a score 67.5 indicated the best sensitivity and specificity. Conclusions: RHFQ Indonesia version had reliability and validity for screening religious health fatalism among DFU outpatients.

Volunteer nurses are the frontline in performing COVID-19 treatment. They have a higher risk of exposure because they often interact with patients suspected or positive of COVID-19. The psychological condition is a mental condition that can influence the daily life of an individual COVID-19 volunteer nurses. If the psychological condition of individuals is hampered, it will influence their life, not only can ruin interactions or relationships with others but also decrease the work productivity of the nurse. The psychological condition of volunteer nurses is closely related to the workload of volunteer nurses because too much workload can cause tension in a person, causing stress, anxiety and depression and it can influence their role as COVID-19 volunteer nurses. This study aims to analyze the relationship between workload with the psychological conditions of COVID-19 volunteer nurses. The method in this study used a quantitative analysis design with a cross-sectional approach. The number of samples in this study was 200 COVID-19 volunteer nurses according to sampling technique referring to Maxwell theory (1999). This research was conducted throughout Indonesia. Data analysis used the Chi-square test. The instrument used was a questionnaire in the form of Google Form. The results of the study showed that there was a relationship between workload and psychological conditions of depression, anxiety, and stress on COVID-19 volunteer nurses
