“…Similarly, while a connection has been found between (low) self-esteem and strategic self-presentation on Facebook (Mehdizadeh, 2010;Bareket-Bojmel, Moran & Shahar, 2016), research has only established a connection between higher self-esteem and use of dating sites (Kim, Kwon & Lee, 2009). The relationship of individual personality to impression management within online dating remains therefore understudied.…”

“…No, predrasude nekorisnika vezane uz tu strategiju pronalaska partnera mogu biti pod utjecajem njihovih iskustava s upotrebom interneta i iskustvom paradruštvenih veza (Peris i dr., 2002;Anderson, 2005;Kim, Kwon i Lee, 2009;Aretz i dr., 2010).

“…Some studies have found higher rates of psychological problems in individuals who use the internet to seek social interactions or meet romantic partners, including higher levels of social anxiety, depression, and loneliness, as well as lower self-esteem (Caplan, 2007;Kim, Kwon, & Lee, 2009;Klein, 2014;Morrison & Gore, 2010). Given that many transgender men and women face discrimination and consequently have relatively high rates of psychiatric symptoms, examination of mental health among transgender individuals who meet partners online is warranted.…”
