Students spend most of the quality hours of the entire day in a school environment. Therefore, their safety and security are priorities of school administration and teachers to keep them secure from injuries and other health issues. Students mostly rely on teachers for their daily academic activities within a classroom environment. Therefore, it is essential to find out teachers’ perceptions and awareness about ergonomics risk factors and their practices to reduce these factors for the safety of the children within the classroom environment. A qualitative case study was conducted in a private school of Pakistan, to investigate teachers’ perceptions about school ergonomics and their practices which directly or indirectly influence school ergonomics. Five school teachers of primary class 3 were interviewed through a self-developed semi-structured interview protocol. The result indicated that ergonomics is highly valued in school education for students’ safety and health. Teachers introduce appropriate physical exercise in the classroom to keep children healthy and active during school hours and provide postural awareness for developing proper body posture. Counselling parents on ergonomics risk factors was suggested, along with ergonomically designed furniture in the classroom and the use of light material backpacks are also recommended.

The article discusses and describes in detail topical problems of psychological and speech development of young children. The relevance of this issue is associated with an increase in the number of children with problems in the development of speech already in the first years of life. A brief overview of studies on the formation of functional systems and higher cortical functions in ontogenesis, as well as applied aspects of assessing the psychological and speech development of young children is presented. The authors of the article conducted an experimental study, the results of which showed a visible lag behind the age normative indicators of psychomotor and speech development in children of the test group. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the obtained data showed that the pathogenetic basis of the existing disorders was delayed maturation of brain structures and functions against the background of chronic maternal diseases, unfavorable course of pregnancy, general somatic weakening and neurological status.

The article deals with the theoretical justification and development of a model of the formation of readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers, as well as the evaluation of the pedagogical conditions of such formation. The leading approaches to studying the problem are the social and cultural approach, the system approach, the activity approach, and the anthropological approach that constitute the theoretical and methodological basis of the readiness under consideration.The article presents the theoretical review of the literature related to the problem of formation of readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers at additional education institutions. The definitions of the following terms are given: "social and personal orientation", "readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers", and "formation of readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers". The article describes the main components of the structure of readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers – personal, cognitive, and activity components. The model of the formation of readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers at additional education institutions is elaborated. The main components of the model – theoretical and methodological, target, content, process, and resultative and evaluative – are presented and characterized in detail. The pedagogical conditions of implementing the model are justified and tested. The results of the summative and formative assessment and the control experiment are presented and analyzed. The pilot testing was carried out at additional education institutions in Saransk, Republic of Mordovia. The theoretical analysis of the literature on the topic and the empirical methods have been used in the research.The relevance of the research aimed at studying readiness for social and personal orientation of preschoolers at additional education institutions is defined by the fact that the obtained results contribute to the successful social orientation of children of this category in society.
