Pryazolylpyridine and Triazolylpyridine derivative of hydroxychloroquine as Potential Therapeutic against COVID-19: Theoretical Evaluation

Abstract: In attempt to improve the biological activity of the well-known drug hydroxychloroquine (HQC), eight derivatives (HQ1-4Py – HQ8-4Py) based on the core of HQC were design and their electronic properties including frontier molecular orbitals, total energy and structural parameters were estimated at semi-empirical PM3 levels. Pharmacological parameters such as physicochemical, pharmacokinetics, drug-likeness and medicinal chemistry friendliness have been evaluated to estimate the drugs similarity. Introducing the… Show more

“…However, there is no consensus on their efficacy in treating COVID-19 infection. Many investigations are being conducted on these medications and their derivatives in order to employ them in the treatment of COVID-19 disease and to develop novel COVID-19 disease drugs [6][7][8][9][10].…”

“…We [1,2] and others [3][4][5] have been interested in designing and making new molecules that have biological activities, medicinal uses, coordination behaviors [6][7][8] and studying their properties computationally. However, it is very important to find effective and safe drugs that can target the virus and/or change how the immune system responds [9].…”
