Background: This scoping review aims to identify evidence-based practices for educating rehabilitation professionals who provide assistive technology interventions, specifically night-time postural care, to children with cerebral palsy. Methods: A review of both peer-reviewed and grey literature published between 2000 and 2021 was undertaken in June 2021. The articles were analyzed using a process outlined by Arksey and O’Malley in 2005: scanning abstracts, completing initial and critical reviews, collating and summarizing data into themes. Results: The search resulted in 15 articles, predominantly from the United Kingdom and the United States: 10 primary research, two reviews, two conceptual/theoretical, and one gray-literature source. Four themes emerged (1) Successful service delivery required competence, (2) Benefits of incorporating practice, collaboration, and feedback, (3) Effective online education through multifactorial approaches, (4) Considering different learning requirements among team members. Conclusions: There’s beginning evidence that rehabilitation professionals’ competence with night-time postural care might be achieved via active, interactive, multi-factorial online training.

Uma revisão de artigos publicados em dois periódicos internacionais – Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education e Active Learning in Higher Education – sobre autoavaliação e avaliação pelos pares, nos últimos sete anos (2010-2016), é o objetivo maior deste estudo. Uma análise detalhada dos artigos coloca em evidência diversos benefícios ligados a esses processos de regulação tão presentes no desenvolvimento de metodologias ativas de aprendizagem, como o melhor desempenho dos estudantes nas disciplinas e maior interação entre os membros do grupo. No entanto, limites são também identificados, como a necessidade de realizar retroações claras e pertinentes, assim como de associar os tópicos de estudo, para que esses processos de regulação façam sentido.

Self-assessment in EFL classes of secondary education in Türkiye: The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)-based implementations

The current study investigates the CEFR-based self-assessment implementations in English as a foreign language (EFL) classes in secondary education in Türkiye. The study adopted a qualitative research design, and the data were collected via document analysis, an interview form, and an observation checklist. The results revealed an incongruity between theory and practice regarding the CEFR-based self-assessment implementations in 9th grade EFL classes; the CEFR-based self-assessment was provided in the coursebook through 'can do' statements at the end of each unit in the 'Check Yourself ' parts. However, the compatibility of these items with the EAQUALS Bank of Descriptors as Checklists was relatively low. In addition, the study revealed that the participating teachers favoured self-assessment implementations in their classes. However, they did not implement the self-assessment parts upon completing units in real EFL class contexts.
